FBI Agent Clarice Starling is sent to interview imprisoned killer Dr. Hannibal “The Cannibal” Lecter. She hopes he might reveal information about another crazed killer known only as “Buffalo Bill,” who is adbucting young women, starving them, and then killing them. Lecter’s brilliant mind is intrigued by the beautiful Starling, and he begins to give her mystifying clues which could be helpful or merely a game. The terror builds as “Buffalo Bill” grabs another ictim and the countdown to deaath begins again. Finding the madman means Starling must get inside Lecter’s mind. To stop a killer, she must enter a terrifying race against death.
This is an amazing movie. Anthony Hopkins plays Hannibal Lecter wonderfully. He really knows how to make Lecter a frightening figure. As for Jodie Foster, she really does a great job at bringing the character of Clarice Starling to life. This movie is for people who like movies like Seven, The Watcher, Hannibal. My favorite scene in this movie is when Hannibal breaks out of his prison. When he hangs a police officer from his cage, torn apart. Buffalo Bill is a true psychopath, but the character of Hannibal is far more frightening. If you liked the movie Hannibal, then I recommend this film, which is part 2 in the trilogy, with Manhunter being the first. I give this movie 9 out of 10 stars.
