The Severed ArmThe Severed Arm, 1973 is a cult classic. We’re talking Saturday night late flick here. Most of the movies I like possess a raw, underbudgeted, but good storyline appeal. This is one of them. In fact it is in my top 25 favorite movies of all time, for a reason beyond me to tell you the truth. The storyline appeals to me most. Like anchovies, this flick is an aquired taste, but it’s a must see for the armchair cult low-budge horror buff.

So, you and your frinds go on a little mining trip. As you guys are digging while underground, one of your friends applies a little too much pressure, and as soon as you know it “a cave in!” So for two weeks you are stuck for two weeks underground with no food, little water, and nocell phones thats for sure. What would you do?! The men decide there is no hope left and by this time they sure are hungry! So, one of the men decides to draw straws to see who will have to sacrifice cutting off an arm or limb for the group of men to eat. Let’s just say someone does loose and there is an interesting twist soon after I will not reveal.

Needless to say the title of this talkie is “The Severed Arm”. The very end of the flick also holds an unexpected suprise I will also not reveal, and this is why I have always been stoked on it. The end is my favorite part in particular. “Mad Man Herman” Is also pretty funny, and so is some of the dialog although it’s not intented to be.

So, check it out!! “The Severed Arm”, a great addition to any low-budget horror collection.
