When Jim Halsey stops to pick up a hitcher one rainy night, he is soon dying to turn back time. The man puts a knife to Jim’s throat as he tells him to pull past a stranded car on the side of the road. Its occupants have already been brutally slaughtered by the ominous stranger. Now a bloody game of cat-and-mouse is about to be played out on this desolate stretch of highway, and every car that passes, and every poor soul who rides that road, are going to take part whether they want to or not.
Before I saw this film, everyone was telling me how frightening it was. I found it to be more of a thriller then a horror film. It is good, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not as scary as everyone says. This movie reminds me of the movie with Kurt Russell called “Breakdown.” One of my favorite scenes in this film is when Jennifer Jason Leigh is tied between two cars, one stopped and the other about ready to go. I recomment this film to anyone who picks up hitch-hikers, or to anyone who wants to see a fun film to watch. I give it 7 out of 10.
