The Calling is the story of a mother who has a child, and that child is the Anti-Christ. Now there is this cult who is trying to get the boy away from the mother. As Kristie fights to keep her child, people around her are trying to take her son away from her. Soon Kristie realizes that her husband has a new girlfriend, and both of them are in on it. The child knows something that the mother doesn’t know, and that is that he knows that his father isn’t really his father. Kristie must save her son, because they are one of the few who hear the Calling.
I really didn’t have that high of hopes before viewing this film, and usually when I don’t have high hopes I am really pleased. Well this one just met my hopes. It’s an average film. The movie reminded me a lot of Bless the Child. I guess that would be because of that whole cult wanting the child plot that this film had. I wasn’t that big of a fan of Bless the Child either. The movie is slow in parts, but starts to pick up at the end. Though I didn’t really like the ending of this movie. I’m not going to spoil it for you, but the ending was rather odd. Still, if you liked Bless the Child, you might want to check this film out. It’s just not in my genre of interest. I give this movie a 5 out of 10.
