Four years ago students decided to do a college fraternity prank on someone who is trying to get into the fraternity. Sadly, the joke goes bad and the boy ends up in the hospital. Four years later the same fraternity decide to have a New Years Costume Party on a train and the boy who they sent to the hospital decides to take this as an opportunity to get revenge on those who wronged him. Soon the people in the fraternity realize that the boy they played a prank on four years earlier wasn’t exactly a mentally healthy kid and he had killed someone in the past. Now as people start to die off, no one can discover who the killer is because everyone is wearing masks. The killer can be anywhere and he sure is planning on making this New Years Party one that they will never forget.
People consider this movie just another rip-off of Halloween, but I find this one to be a step above the other slashers in the genre. This one also stars the star of Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis. I believe this was her second horror film to do, though I could be mistaken. Prom Night came out the same year, along with The Fog. It is in my opinion that out of all those horror films that Jamie Lee Curtis stared in, this one is the second best, right behind Halloween and a step above The Fog. If you’re a fan of 80’s slasher movies, this one is a must see. I give it a 7 out of 10.
