Teenagers are stalked by a murderer who wants to bring his horror movie fantasy’s to life.
Some consider this movie the start of the downfall of horror. I consider this movie the start of the rebirth of horror. During the most part of the 90’s, there were hardly any horror movies worth watching, and barely any being made. Then this one comes along. It was Kevin Williamson’s first film to be made by one of his scripts. Wes Craven read the script and loved it and they made this movie. Neither one of them were expecting it to be a big success. This was a very intelligent film, and in my opinion one of the best of the 90’s if not the best. It mixes horror, thrillers, and comedy in it. Also this movie is perfect for gorehounds, but for gorehounds, I recommend the VHS version which is the Director’s Cut. Now, back to the movie, the script is original. The death scenes were original. The beginning of the film is quite terrifying, and the end of the film is so shocking and unexpected. The back story in the movie for the killer’s motive just adds on to the effectiveness of the film. Though this film started numerous clones, and two sequels, it is still a wonderful film. I recommend this film to everyone who is a fan of horror. I give this movie a 10 out of 10.
