Ripper: Letter From HellOn a remote island one night when Molly was 16, she was the only survivor when her friends were brutally murdered by a savage killer.   Now five years later Molly is off at college taking a class on serial killers.   Soon one of her classmates are murdered and Molly and her new friends are trying to figure out who this killer is.  This killer makes his kills look like that of Jack the Ripper.  Is this the same killer from Molly’s past and if so can she survive this killer again?

When I first saw the trailer for this movie I knew I had to see it.  After viewing it I thought that this was a rather good film.  It starts out very nicely with Molly trying to escape the killer, then it switches to five years later.  The next scene takes place in the college classroom and reminded me much of the same scene in Urban Legend.  After this point in the film the pace begins to slow down.  There are a few murders up until the finale to keep you entertained.   Once the finale arrives you are in for a treat.  This film does have some inventive murders.  There isn’t much gore in this flick, but it does deliver its share.  The thing that I really liked about this movie was the ending.  The ending is something that you’ll really just have to decide for yourself.  It’s quite confusing and it’ll make you think.  One thing about this film though, is that I was able to figure out who the killer was within the first 15 minutes of the film, and I’ve never really been able to do that in a film.  I always wonder who the killer is up until the time where we find out who the killer is.  Still I questioned if I was correct or not throughout the film, but my first guess as to who the killer was and what the motive was was right.  Still, this is a decent little slasher, and it can hold its own with all those other slashers that have been released in theaters.  It’s worth a rental.  I give this film a 6 out of 10.
