Return of the Living Dead 3You’ve all heard the story of Romeo and Juliet, but this is the story of Curt and Julie.  Curt’s father works in a government agency that is controlling the zombie attacks from the first two films.  They have no covered it up.  When Julie and Curt sneak into the facility and witness them bring a zombie back to life things start to change.  Curt has an argument with his father, so he and Julie leave on his motorcycle.  They crash and Julie is killed.  Curt loves Julie so much that he can’t live without her, so he breaks into the facility to bring Julie back to life, except instead of bringing her back like old times, he brings her back with a taste for human brains.

This one is my favorite ROTLD.  It’s not funny like the first two, this one is more serious.  It’s a love story about a boy and his zombie.  Though this is the second sequel, it’s one of the best horror films of all time in my opinion.  And in definitely my favorite zombie movie of all time.  There is a lot of gore, and the acting is great.  The romance elements and horror elements mix very well in this film.  In the commentary on the DVD they say that this is one of the last true horror films ever made, and I really do agree.  Even the R rated version has tons of gore.   I have yet to see the Unrated version, but if there is more gore in it, then it is sure to be one really gory movie.  Unlike other zombie movies, this one shows us what the zombie is feeling as it’s turning into a zombie.  Mindy Clarke plays Julie very well, and she brings her character alive.  We also see that even when she’s dead, her love for Curt keeps her from harming him.  Here is one movie from the 90’s that is a true classic.  I give it an 8 out of 10.
