Dr. Hannibal Lecter returns to America to make contact with Special Agent Clarice Starling, when a detective tries to sell Lecter to one of his old victims, Mason Verger, who wants revenge on Dr. Lecter for his cruel torture Lecter did to him. So the disfigured Verger plans to draw Lecter to him with the one thing that Hannibal cares for, Clarice Starling, with plans of feeding Lecter to a pack of wild boars.
This was an amazing movie. There has been a lot of talk about this movie, about the gore. Well I think that this movie fits the R rating. It didn’t need an NC-17 rating like most people are saying. It was gory, but it really only had three gory scenes, and only the scene at the end was truly revealing. And as for the ending, it is one very shocking endings and probably my favorite out of all three of the Hannibal movies, that three being, Manhunter, Silence of the Lambs, and Hannibal. Hannibal shows us how Hannibal Lecter has feelings for Clarice Starling, and that he wouldn’t do her harm. I would say that this movie is pretty much equal to Silence of the Lambs. 8 out of 10.
