Heretic Skeptic you comment was music to my umm.. eyes! It really is funny how stalwart the defenders of the original series are. I appreciate what the originals had to offer but I agree originality really does help freshen up the idea and let us watch it again in a new light!

I agree about Zombie totally.. I mean his music aside (and I do like the music but that's music and not film - different things, right?) he's got serious talent at directing. I believe The Devil's Reject proved that and I think his first Halloween definitely proved it.. remember the young Michael Meyers beating that kid with a branch in the woods? WOW

Hard to believe he started out doing set design for Peewee's Playhouse isn't it?

I really do hope you'll keep coming back and be heretically skeptical! :)

Thanks for joining us!

I absolutely agree. People are actually quite hilarious in that they hardly ever accept originality at the time it is presented to them, but rather tend to downright oppose it. Years later, when the dust has settled and the artist has garnered a certain level of respect on a wider scale, those same opposers become die-hard fans. Silliness....

Learn to judge something for what it is, and not what you expect it to be. I truly appreciate your remarks about how people will eventually see Zombie's version a superior. He is one of my favorite directors and writers in the horror genre of all-time. One of the very few I see consistently trying to create, rather than replicate.
