A high tech computer virus has started to infect humans. Now Specialist Samantha Craig is teaming up with a doctor, Nick Baldwin. Together they are trying to discover what is the cause of this strange virus as it infects more and more people and the countdown to the new Digitron is being released to the public. The death toll continues to rise, turning its victims into human chunks of clay.
The movie opens with a group of people having a meeting. One of them is there by using the new Digitron. With this new Digitron, it is possible to talk on the phone and see each other as you do so. Well, as they are in the meeting they start to get sick and soon they are all turned into piles of clay. Only the janitor survives. As the janitor is rushed into the hospital we meet Dr. Nick Baldwin who tries to help the janitor, but it’s too late. Soon Nick meets Samantha and they begin to search for the cause of the virus together.
I had never even heard of this film until recently, nor did I even know there was a book on this. Well I found out that it was a TV movie so I didn’t expect much. Once I began to watch it I noticed that I was beginning to like this. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be. For a TV movie it has some nice special effects. Especially when the people start to fall apart. I really wouldn’t call this much of a horror movie though. It’s more like The X-Files, and Nick and Samantha do remind me of Mulder and Scully. Overall this is an entertaining film and if you’re a fan of the X-Files I think you should enjoy this movie as well. I give it a 6 out of 10.
